More on Halloween...

Let's pray that Jesus light will pierce and penetrate the darkness of this day... 
John 8:12 
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”


Why I don't like Halloween...

Costumes (They're usually scary, right?...)  I guess that was so evil spirits would think they were just other evil spirits, and that would protect the children from being bothered by them...

And "trick-or-treat"... Really?  If you don't get a treat you'll play a trick on me...  How is that a good thing to teach our kids?

Christians don't need to fear ghosts or evil spirits.

Because Jesus is greater than any evil spirit...

"the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world." 1 John 4:4
"This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins." 1 John 4:9,10
"There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear..." 1 John 4:18
And God has loved us perfectly and given us His perfect love!

We trust that God is able to protect us from any ghost, evil spirit, or evil of any kind.  So our children don't have to dress in scary costumes...

(This doesn't mean evil things will never happen to us... It means that if they do, God will give us the strength to not give in and be evil back to whoever hurt us, but to do what is right and good, even though we've been hurt.)

Titus 3:4-7 says "But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

Headed Different Ways...

David has gone to Lake Tahoe for the Men's Retreat. He'll be gone until Saturday.  So...  Friday is Nevada Day... No classes. So I'm taking a group of House Girls to Virginia City for old-time photos. Then we'll drive to Lake Tahoe where we're going to stay in a hotel and come home on Saturday!!!

Snow is in the forecast up there! 40% for tonight, 100% for tomorrow!!! Expecting up to 7 inches!

Some of our girls have never seen snow! Oh!  I do hope it's a good snowstorm!
