Friday Bible Study

Thanks to Mena and Kerry for holding the rope on this study.  We were finally able to attend.  Some of the most common objections to Christianity were brought up with two students from China.

Accountability Note: Romans 9

Great Day

Really enjoyed yesterday, 12/6/12...

Started with a visit with a girl from Reno, taking classes, headed to New Zealand after next semester, but hanging out with international students until she can get there. We had a great visit, talking about insignificant trivia to eternal things.

Then two separate meetings with students to learn about the Bible.  Topics covered:
John 9 and the blind man - questions from, "Why did He use mud?" to imagining the neighbors saying, "It IS him!" and "It ISN"T him... It can't be. It's gotta just be someone who looks like him..." to a discussion of "reviled", "strongly insulted", to being excluded from the synagogue, to the boldness of this man in the face of those powerful leaders, to Jesus telling the Pharisees following Him that they were NOT blind - and so they were GUILTY.
Prayer
Why do Christians say only one God, and don't accept any of the other gods of other cultures, but they say the Father, and the Son and the Spirit are God?

Walked to the Student Union Starbucks and shared some time and a hot chocolate with a former housemate.

Just for accountability:  My reading today was from Proverbs 3...

Flower (...Not...) Tea
Given to me by a Chinese woman today... Yellow Mountain Flower... not tea. But you pour hot water over it and steep it just like tea! Tastes like tea! Yum.

Also enjoyed helping a different Chinese woman with a paper today - A paper reviewing a book turned in a discussion on heaven, die once and then judgement, and what it means to "believe in Jesus", plus the promises of eternal life when we do.

Getting Up-to-Date

Thank you, Julia, for helping me set this up!

It's been awhile since I've been on here... Maybe I can be more faithful with big stories from now on...

This might become long... It'll take awhile to summarize the last few years!

Amazed that I am married! Amazed at the God of my life who brought such a perfect man for me into my life. LOVE this man!

Definitely loving Bible study!

Several years ago I rented a house near Lawlor Events Center (UNR) & started renting to international students. David & I hope an investor will build us a house with an apartment for us & a wing for students connected by hotel-locking doors so we can live with the students again, (There's a lot right across the street from Nightingale Hall!!!) but until then the Girls' House is in full swing and I drop by several times a week.

I'm also enjoying playing my flute with the worship team at Community Bible Church.
