Beautiful drive, beautiful setting...

Studying through Philippians...
Some of the highlights...
This letter was a thank you and a missionary update... (I need to get busy and write a newsletter! [anyone want to help?!!!])
It's a book of joy, although Paul's circumstances are anything but joyful.
*in rented house under house arrest.
These are not good circumstances... How does he have joy? He's focused on the Gospel - the good news that Jesus saves from sin, saves to new life...
And Paul was a servant. His life wasn't about him, but about Jesus... It didn't matter where he was and it didn't matter what his circumstances were.
Paul was not frightened by suffering. It's our job, and joy, to make known to the world who Christ is.
Paul wanted to know Christ. He said this after following Him for 30 years! But Paul still wanted to know Him more!
You can only trust Christ to the extent that you know Him. To know Him, you have to spend time in the Word.
Paul ended by saying to God be the glory forever. He appreciated the Philippians and their gift, but God gets all the glory.
